R. Kent Rupp, 1937-2021
Artist, Early member of the Beat Generation &
The San Francisco Bay Area Figurative Art Movement

Kent Rupp was my husband, mentor, and best friend for the last 43 years. As I sit here writing personally about Kent for the first time, I realize there is no way I can fully summarize who Kent was, what he accomplished, or how he viewed the world. He was first and last an accomplished artist who lived and created among founding members of the San Francisco Bay Area Figurative Art Movement. He studied with Richard Diebenkorn and played piano with David Park. Early in his career, he was represented by The Braunstein Quay Gallery, the first gallery to represent Diebenkorn.
